The cave Sezam opened its depths to Lithuanian cavers

The expedition of caving club "Aenigma" to the cave Sezam, located in one of the most promising karst massifs of Crimea - Karabi-Yayla, has come to an end. The aim of the expedition was to explore the bottom of the cave and to descend as deep as possible into the depths of the cave. After work of two weeks the cave became 20 m deeper and 50 m longer. Total depth of the cave reached 170 m. The exact depth of the cave will be established after more accurate topographical exploration. The new passage is promising and the exploration of the cave Sezam will be continued in the others expeditions. The cave Sezam was discovered in 1986 by well-known Lithuanian caver Raimondas Daniūnas. Intensive exploration of this cave was renewed after a break of almost 20 years.

The caving club "Aenigma" is very thankful to the joint stock company "SATi" (www.sati.lt) for its financial support in the organizing of the expedition.
