Lithuanian cavers are going to Abkhazia again!

On July 28 six cavers from the caving club Aenigma led by Aidas Gudaitis are going to the expedition for more than three weeks. The expedition is held together with Moscow caving club Sokolniki-RUDN (leader A. Yefremov). We intend to work in the cave system of V. Iljukhina and other caves in the neighbourhood on the Arabika massif (the west Caucasus mountains).
The cave system of Vladimira Iljukhina was discovered in 1980 and nowadays is one of the deepest hydro-geological systems in the world. Its main entrance is about 2400 m above the sea level. The temperature in the cave varies from 0 to 4 ^oC. Four difficult siphons have been discovered and dived through untill nowadays.
